From a weepy-weary distance <br />Sounded the jingle-jangle chimes, <br />A quartet of string hum-drums <br />And choruses chanting rhymes. <br /> <br />The wickerwork was laid across <br />The long road of gold. <br />And people all stood in parallel, <br />To candlelights in hold. <br /> <br />The weighted framework, trudge by trudge, <br />A coffin through the night, <br />They sifted through the road, the dirt <br />Til the dawning early light. <br /> <br />They trudged across the world entire <br />And everyone caught a glance. <br />And the coffin contained a tiny light, <br />A will o' the wisp wanting to dance, <br />But it just had to stay in there, <br />In its comatose, little trance. <br /> <br />They lugged the huge wooden box <br />Into a deep, dark grave. <br />Containing the dreams of this sullen boy. <br />Into its deep, dark grave. <br />Goodbye, free world, <br />You just seem too far away <br />For me to want to save.<br /><br />K.
