This is the religion that they have built <br />And everyday it gets bigger, <br />From those big cathedral Wall Street corporations <br />To the polish on the trigger. <br /> <br />This is the new religion that shines <br />And it is not going to stop, <br />From neon gods to the sex and the wine, <br />Good to the very last drop. <br /> <br />And we all sit and give dance in our rooms <br />Lending our voices to the songs and the praise <br />And everytime we sing the Symphony of the New Religion <br />It goes and switches into a different phase. <br />And now we have to go back <br />And learn this whole new set of words, <br />Scripted upon the stone of the lyric sheets <br />Those other religions are for the birds. <br /> <br />Because this is the religion that gives you results, <br />This is the religion that will get things done, <br />People like this new god more, <br />So vibrant, so colourful, so fun. <br /> <br />And now they're sending out metal caravans <br />Floating into the crowded middle of Times Square <br />And can you hear the proclamations from the foghorns, <br />The cogs of a new religion spinning into gear? <br /> <br />And maybe you can see the banners billowing <br />And the limosines pulling up on the sidewalk, <br />Costumed followers of this new religion, <br />And the confetti showering down from the beanstalk. <br /> <br />And maybe you can taste the burning liquid <br />Pumped and surging through your sorry veins, <br />The remedy the new religion provides to help <br />Relieve you of these here earthly pains. <br /> <br />And maybe you can hear the evangelist <br />Channelling through the radio waves that pass you by, <br />He's chanting about that whole new religion <br />And those new gods living in the Hollywood Sky. <br /> <br />So do you believe in this one new god <br />That can influence the metropolis of mankind <br />Because this is the religion of things you really love <br />And things so hard to leave behind.<br /><br />K.
