I got into my helicopter
no intention but to fly
up above the rain and clouds
into the sunny sky.

And what did I see on leaving the field
but a scattering of flowers
Daffodils, they were, in fact
- I could watch them by the hour.

So the need to fly the chopper passed:
I retreated to the ground.
And on my bumpy swoop-down
It was Dee D that I found.

My mood became so happy when
I saw that alliteration
that from now on I think it might just be
her poetry takes my attention

(rather than helicopters. Or maybe a balance of both) . (Maybe reading whilst in the helicopter) . (It's Ok, I have a co-pilot) .

Michael Emine

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ode-to-daffodils-but-not-just-any-daffodil/
