In some religions, I’m told, <br />the word for God is never spoken. <br />It is verboten and a taboo <br />that must never be broken. <br /> <br />I wonder if there’s another word <br />that would be better kept unsaid, <br />since it’s overused and quite cliché <br />and ineffective when it’s read. <br /> <br />Love, amour, amore, amor, <br />over and over and over again, <br />We wink, or sign, or moan it, <br />but must we quote it in a quatrain? <br /> <br />I love your hat, <br />I love your style, <br />I love your love, <br />I love your smile. <br /> <br />I love the theater, <br />I love to dance, <br />Surely there’s a better way <br />to indicate romance. <br /> <br />So, from here on out, <br />tell your darling true, <br />I’ve something to say, <br />but it’s not I () you.<br /><br />Sonny Rainshine<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/word-unspoken/
