They all said it's a beautiful star, <br />they all said it's warm and bright. <br />Even though they knew it's far, <br />they all hoped to embrace it's light. <br />In the morning they saw a scar, <br />in the far sky after the night. <br />No one had a single fear, <br />they believed it watched over us. <br />Even in the mornings they knew it's near, <br />how can it ever to disappear, that they trust. <br />But one day after it became their love, <br />they looked at the sky and it wasn't above. <br />But they got through the tough days, <br />and they tried to find the lost one. <br />As the pain with them stays, <br />moon disappears and rises a sun. <br />They walked in the dark, <br />we tried till the last breath we got. <br />But we couldn't find my heart, <br />and we lost the way but.. <br />One day it came back so sad, <br />saying that it couldn't find the star. <br />And we all got mad, <br />my soul said: heart, it's now so far. <br />How can you ever think it'll be here? <br />it'll never come back again. <br />So, shed your very last tear, <br />try to breathe, try to remain. <br />My mind asked my heart in embrace, <br />why are you torn like this? <br />It says it was through the space, <br />and was lost in the dark and lonliness. <br />It chased comets and a meteor, <br />it got burned and got soar. <br />We all loved that star so much, <br />my heart, me, my mind and my soul. <br />And we longed for a day to touch, <br />it, even if we climbed a thousand walls. <br />And we will keep on saying, <br />it was a beautiful star. <br />Till one day death calls, <br />and we find you in that endless place so far..<br /><br />Eman Awad<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/it-was-a-beautiful-star/
