There’s something about a windmill <br />So calming, don’t you think so? <br />The whirring sound so pleasant <br />Sort of lets your inner thoughts flow <br /> <br />They make me feel so close to God <br />In a strange and wondrous way <br />You can almost feel His presence <br />I noticed not long on a sunny Sunday <br /> <br />On the way from church that day <br />I stopped along the road, you see <br />Just listened to that whirling sound <br />As I relaxed on a fallen tree <br /> <br />I closed my eyes for just a moment <br />Said, “Lord I feel close to you.” <br />The turmoil inside me stilled <br />As I chatted with my God, it’s true <br /> <br />I guess we need to take time out <br />To stop our busy world <br />After all, we do have the time <br />As our minds feel busy and swirled <br /> <br />And there’s nothing like a windmill <br />To really slow things down <br />Churches and windmills are similar <br />And the calmest places I’ve found!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/churches-and-windmills/
