The first word I uttered in my life, <br />was not the golden arches but the universal word of eternal love, <br />The word Ma has all the variations in different cultures, <br />It signifies the eternal bondage of motherhood in the Creation. <br /> <br />I would feel the warmth of her affection in her lap, <br />when crying was my only profession, <br />More she would rock me to make me sleep, <br />More I would cry to get her heavenly attention. <br /> <br />Whether I was a bad boy or a good boy, <br />whether I played whole day or did my homework or not, <br />she made me think that I was the best boy in the world, <br />she disciplined me with utmost care, <br />and shaped me for a bright future, <br /> <br />Whenever I did something very stupid, <br />her anger would change into sermons, <br />In one instant she would be in rage over my actions, <br />In the next moment she would forgive me, <br />and instruct me to take right decisions. <br /> <br />Whenever I was in pain over the setbacks of daily life, <br />Her tearful eyes would feel my agony, <br />She would try to heal my pain with great sympathy, <br />she would comfort me and fill my heart with empathy. <br /> <br />Whenever I needed unselfish love and tenderness, <br />She would be there with pure and honest goodness of the heart, <br />She would bestow never ending love and care with innocent smile, <br />She would live in my dreams for the rest of my life.<br /><br />Jay P Narain<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-mom-6/
