Nothing changes, <br />Everything stays the same, <br />‘Tis all simply part, <br />Of life’s strange game. <br /> <br />The liquid of life, <br />Reduces nor moves up, <br />The only thing that shifts, <br />Is the blasted cup. <br /> <br />We think things are different, <br />We think that there is hope, <br />It helps us to go on, <br />It helps us to cope. <br /> <br />But then, here’s the thing, <br />Nothing has changed, <br />The problems may look different, <br />But they’re just rearranged. <br /> <br />They are the same ones, <br />We dealt with before, <br />At least knowing this, <br />We see now what’s in store. <br /> <br />At least we’re prepared, <br />To face them all again, <br />At least we shall know, <br />There’s no more if, just when.<br /><br />Aisha Sherazi<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/nothing-changes/
