I cry for you at night <br />Hoping that you will shine a light. <br />To help me find my way <br />Until night becomes day. <br /> <br />I stare into the stars in the sky <br />And find myself asking the same question, why? <br />Why did you have to be taken away? <br />Why does it have to be this way? <br /> <br />I talk to you in hope that you can hear <br />And I ask for you to always stay near. <br />How I wish you were here right now <br />But I guess that's me being a selfish cow! <br /> <br />Sometimes I sit and picture your face <br />All the thoughts in my head begin to race. <br />At times all I want is to be with you <br />To accomplish that, I know what I need to do. <br /> <br />But then I hear a voice inside <br />'Stay and live your life with pride'. <br />These few words which mean so much <br />I know it's you with your gentle touch. <br /> <br />I know you don't want me to feel so sad <br />But I didn't get to say good-bye and for that I feel bad. <br />It's so unfair that out time together was cut short <br />But I remember all the love into my life you brought. <br /> <br />You were needed in heaven up above <br />And I know you will continue to surround me with your love. <br />All I ask is when I cry at night <br />That you will continue to shine a light.<br /><br />Hannah Davies<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/shine-a-light/
