The rains had soaked the carbon boxes <br />The mold desecrated the insides <br />The books stored set aside for days to come <br /> <br />Were refuse, carnage of storms <br />It's forms just debris, mixed with dirt <br />Unrecognized for what it was <br /> <br />Disposing, i carted away in stealth <br />Lest my partner see <br />I would save her the sorrow, I did feel <br /> <br />Sheild her from so unnecessary <br />A sad event <br />Nothing could return it to its former self <br /> <br />It had been carefully stacked and stored <br />No one was to blame, it was natures course. <br />When she did learn of its demise <br />She was angry with me as all hell <br /> <br />I had thought to be commended, for so noble an act <br />She said it was mine too <br />And I would have liked to see <br />And bid farewell to memories <br /> <br />It had seemed to me so trivial, <br />A disbelief in my judgement. <br />Alas it would be some days <br />Before she speaks to me again<br /><br />shimon weinroth<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/misplaced-ceremonies/
