late at night <br />a knock on the door <br />slowly getting out of bed <br />walking across the floor <br /> <br />opening the door <br /> and there he stood <br />in his long black robe <br />knew inside, he was no good <br /> <br />he reached out his hands <br />pushed me back <br />walked inside <br />he was the man in black <br /> <br />looked straight into his eyes <br />no words he spoke <br />felt his hands upon my throat <br />as he squeezed, i started to choke <br /> <br />i felt the sweat upon his palms <br />dripping down my back <br />he had complete control <br />this man in black <br /> <br />i could feel his breath <br />as he leaned close to my face <br />staring into his cold icy glare <br />my heart was beginning to race <br /> <br />he squeezed tighter and tighter <br />i could not breathe <br />i choked harder and harder <br />would soon there be a relief? <br /> <br />slowly losing conscientousness <br />overwhelmed with fear <br />i could not speak <br />nor shed a tear <br /> <br />he had this awful stench <br />i recognized as i took my last breath <br />this man in black <br />is the Man of Death <br /> <br />i heard that evil laugh <br />as my body lay lemp upon the floor <br />i knew then <br />i let death walk through my door<br /><br />sandy nobody<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/death-at-my-door/
