walk alone <br />Darkness enfolds me <br />Isolation becomes me <br />I walk alone. <br />On the rough hard sands <br />Of blotted darkness <br />I walk alone. <br />Watching - <br />as others pick their path. <br />I walk alone <br />embracing the sweet night <br />As my bruised soul emerges <br />From its lonely walled home, free. <br />As the darkness hides identity, obligation <br />And allows for unobtrusive observation <br />to admire the eternal power <br />Of the elemental forces <br />Which suffuse me with strength and purpose? <br />And fill me with a fleeting moment - <br />of peace and yearning. <br />The sand softens and I labour. <br />Reluctantly everything returns <br />behind the walls <br />And the artificial light <br />Calls me back into the reality <br />Of my lonely existence <br />I wait for the next time <br />I can watch the sky <br />and be at peace. <br />I walk alone.<br /><br />shirts williams<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/walk-alone/
