The Australian Alarm Clock <br />By Barbara Lynn Terry <br /> <br />As I lay there wide awake, <br />I wondered what to make <br />Of the noise outside, <br />That makes me want to commit homicide, <br />Of that pesky, noisy magpie. <br /> <br />So as I lay with open eyes, <br />I just let out a great big sigh, <br />And slide me feet from under the sheets, <br />And off to the shower I go, <br />Yawning and shuffling my feet so slow. <br /> <br />Thank you Heckle and Jeckle for the alarm, <br />My early morning wake up call, <br />On this very nice Sunday, my day off. <br />Now I can have my breakfast, <br />In the shadow the sun does cast. <br /> <br />YAWWWWWWWWWN.<br /><br />Barbara Lynn Terry<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-australian-alarm-clock/
