No matter how hard I try,
I cannot do as you want.
I am yours,
You are mine,
Yet
I live as if you don't exist.
My flesh consumes me.
I'm addicted to my sin.
You provide me with means to escape,
But
Either I'm too blind
Or too arrogant to escape.
Why is it that I find it so difficult to trust you.
Since the begining of time you have
Been here.
You have always shown yourself faithful
And keep your promises.
Promises of your omnipresence
Promises of my freedom from sin,
But
I neglect these promises
And continue in my debauchery.
What is wrong with me?

(7-13-06)

R.M.
