'In These Dark Nights' <br />With these lights out in the dark, <br />I sit here alone in with my thoughts. <br />They whisper to me, telling me lies. <br />Do I believe them, <br />or ask my questions to the sky? <br />Hellfire and brimstone are all that await, <br />my eternity is set into place. <br />Satan mocks me with that smile, <br />I've known this all now for a long while. <br />My skin cringes back in pain, <br />if only this were like a video game. <br />I'd slay Satan with a forty-two hit combo, <br />and be back in time to gloat. <br />But this is reality and fate, <br />and they have my destiny on a plate. <br />My soul is theirs to control, <br />I'm lost without a continue. <br />My heart screams as it burns, <br />love is something I always yearned. <br />The demons tear away at my flesh, <br />so that I may only be tossed aside like the rest. <br />All thats left is this one lowly eye, <br />and it looks up...towards the sky. <br />-Dying Romantic 3: 00 am July 30th<br /><br />Brandon Chiles<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/in-these-dark-nights/
