I always loved boys, <br />and having a daughter was fun, <br />God had given me one of each, <br />and then I acquired another son. <br /> <br />sweet of face, and good of heart, <br />a son inlaw like no other, <br />I treat him like another son, <br />I hope he'll treat me like his mother.. <br /> <br />no formalities, no airs, <br />so down to earth is he, <br />this welcome addition is quite a gem, <br />in our happy family.... <br /> <br />of course, to cement their union <br />I did play a prominent part, , <br />the shy boy was gently shown, <br />the way to my daughters heart. <br /> <br />he was wooing her slowly, with just one rose <br />I said this is not the way.... <br />just send her a basket of the reddest roses, <br />and the two magic words she'll say. <br /> <br />he followed my instructions hesitatingly <br />and soon the result was there... <br />the roses worked their magic... <br />and he acquired the maiden fair. <br /> <br />today they are happily married <br />with a bundle of joy, a girl, <br />to be grandparents, is a blessing <br />those lovely little eyes, and that curl. <br /> <br />we can, t have enough of her, <br />her chatter enchants us completely, <br />but so greedy are the grandparents <br />they ask for another so sweetly. <br /> <br />well if He wills it, it will happen <br />till then we bide our time, <br />meanwhile lets hope my son ties the knot <br />and we can hear the wedding bells chime. <br /> <br />So rich a mother am I, <br />two sons, good humans, and sweet. <br />this one is an ode to my son in law, <br />my sweetest dearest Vineet... <br /> <br />May God bless and keep him, <br />and grant his wishes all, <br />give him good health and happiness <br />keep his head high and tall.<br /><br />Arti Chopra<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/to-my-son-inlaw-vinnie/
