Well, I met this man <br />at a party last night <br />and he had an interesting kind of face, <br />craggy and weatherbeaten <br />and intriguingly lupine, <br />and an intelligent manner of expression <br />which I deemed worthy of exploration. <br />So I seated myself opposite him <br />on the porch rail and, <br />sipping the obligatory glass of white wine, <br />insinuated myself into the conversation. <br />We spoke of male/female matters <br />and I was at my scintillating best <br />in the thrust and parry of adversarial pretence, <br />with clever puns, <br />witty ripostes <br />and sparkling repartee <br />until, suddenly, he rose and stomped off, <br />muttering something about <br />aggressive bitch <br />and <br />feminist rhetoric. <br />I was taken aback, <br />amazed, <br />flabbergasted. <br />I had considered it foreplay.<br /><br />Linda Stitt<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/wimp-in-wolf-s-clothing/
