It was a memorable event, <br />That Moses, God's servant, <br />Was buried by the Lord- <br />A privilege, none had! <br /> <br />God called Joshua then, <br />The beloved son of Nun, <br />To lead those weary people, <br />Who stayed in the camp-circle. <br /> <br />To Joshua, the Lord said, <br />'My servant Moses is dead. <br />My people, you must lead. <br />Your words, they should heed.' <br /> <br />'You cross the River Jordan, <br />And enter the land, the one <br />That I promised to you all, <br />The liberated people of Israel.' <br /> <br />'This is from the desert in south, <br />To the Lebanon Mountain in north, <br />And from the River Euphrates in east, <br />To the Mediterranean sea in west.' <br /> <br />'As I protected Moses, <br />I'll be with you always. <br />Success will be yours. <br />You'll be prosperous.' <br /> <br />'Read without a flaw, <br />My Holy Book of Law <br />In your daily prayer, <br />As a practice regular.' <br /> <br />I command you 'Be determined. <br />Never, at any time, get discouraged. <br />I promise, I'll go with you <br />To whatever place, old or new.' <br /> <br />Joshua's Orders to the People <br /> <br />Joshua called all the leaders. <br />And gave them clear orders, <br />'It's the Lord's command, <br />That we occupy our land.' <br /> <br />'Before three days pass, <br />The river, we should cross. <br />It'll not be so simple, <br />To move all our people.' <br /> <br />'Get ready with food. <br />From here, they should <br />Move in an orderly manner <br />To the other side of the river.' <br /> <br />'Send first our soldiers there. <br />And leave your families here. <br />When safety is ensured, <br />The rest can then be moved.' <br /> <br />'It's the Lord's Hand, <br />That gave us this land. <br />We should remember this. <br />And obey the laws of His' <br /> <br />The people well understood, <br />What all Joshua said. <br />They, in turn, assured, <br />'We'll obey the laws of God.' <br /> <br />'Also we'll obey you always, <br />Just as we obeyed Moses. <br />Your authority, whoever defies, <br />Will face death as its price.”<br /><br />Simple Simon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/c01-god-commands-joshua-to-conquer-canaan/
