The news about Jesus spread. <br />His sermons people heard. <br />Around him, a crowd good, <br />To hear him always stood. <br /> <br />He taught them as a teacher. <br />He told them as a preacher, <br />'For you, there's a reward, <br />Kept in the Kingdom of God.' <br /> <br />'The heaven is there <br />For the spiritually poor. <br />This Lord’s Kingdom <br />Surely belongs to them.' <br /> <br />'God will comfort, <br />If you really regret. <br />To receive His mercy <br />Humble you shall be.' <br /> <br />'Satisfy what all He requires <br />He'll fulfill all your desires. <br />If you show others mercy, <br />He'll show you clemency.' <br /> <br />'Be pure in your heart. <br />He'll then play His part. <br />God, if you want to please <br />You shall work for peace' <br /> <br />'If someone insults you, <br />Or persecutes you, <br />Or talks ill of you, <br />Remember God is with you.' <br /> <br />'Do not at all worry <br />But be ever happy <br />For heaven awaits you <br />With a reward for you.' <br /> <br />Poor people, Jesus cared, <br />Sick ones, he cured, <br />Evil spirits, out he drove, <br />His divine power to prove <br /> <br />Every word he said, <br />And every action he did, <br />A place it did find, <br />Deep in their mind. <br /> <br />The Holy Spirit's power <br />Was with him forever, <br />And he travelled farther <br />Around nook and corner.<br /><br />Simple Simon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/j08-jesus-teaches-preaches-and-heals/
