There's no excuse for how, lately, <br />I've neglected the garden; but <br />it takes care of itself fairly well <br /> <br />While I've been gone, tiny new sprigs of fern <br />have planted themselves assertively <br />in spots of their own choosing <br /> <br />Purple periwinkle blooming says he <br />thinks he'll visit awhile; irises, and <br />especially the aloe have multiplied <br /> <br />Pathos leaves, still climbing <br />Callistemon tree, have grown <br />tremendously as has the agave. <br /> <br />Clearly, I am merely <br />the humble audience. <br /> <br />Even the tiny red roses <br />seem motivated.<br /><br />Kay Bressner<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-garden-28/
