I wrote my sentiments into poems, <br />To express and expound innate thoughts. <br />It is my fault that I cannot strike the passion, <br />Of poetic phrases devoid of the subtleties. <br /> <br />I am not a scholarly type of a poet, <br />Who scribbles poems with a score or rhyme. <br />I just want to express something in free verse, <br />A paragraph or two devoid of the subtleties. <br /> <br />Like most of the dreamers who attempted, <br />I too just grab a pen or click the keyboard; <br />At the surge of feelings so moved by an urge <br />To compose a poem devoid of subtleties. <br /> <br />Though somehow my poems seem so cold, <br />Lacks magic of the classic type of expression; <br />Yet I thank those who bother to read my writings <br />Even as they said most are devoid of the subtleties.<br /><br />Marvin Brato Sr<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/devoid-of-subtleties/
