Excitement builds as I pull open the heavy Church door; <br />the Holy Water font invites me to make the blessing: <br /> <br />In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. <br /> <br />Upon the Altar up the center aisle <br />I see You encased in golden filigree <br />And see You turn to face me. <br />No matter what side of the Church I enter <br />Our Lady's side, St. Joseph's side or the Center, <br />I see You seeing me. <br /> <br />A number of people come to Adoration and yet <br />when I come in and see that You are looking right at me, <br />my soul soars and I smile broadly because I feel loved, <br />Lord, truly loved just for coming to see You <br />because I love You. <br /> <br />This gift of Your Presence is so appreciated. <br />I love how You love me. <br />Help me to love as I ought. <br /> <br />This prayer comes to my mind now: <br /> <br />'We adore you, O Christ, and we Praise you, <br />Because by Your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.' <br /> <br /> <br />(July 20,2007)<br /><br />Mel (Carmela) Patterson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/adoration-9/
