So he spends most of his life, like most <br />Living in his cloister, his shell <br />Withdrawn and cut off from the world <br />Then one day he has an epiphany <br /> <br />A realization that he needs to open up <br />He wants to open up, to share <br />He smashes said cloister and shell <br />Into little bits and pieces <br /> <br />He evolves <br />He moves onwards through life <br />More confident, more secure <br />Physically, emotionally, intellectually <br /> <br />Traveling this new path <br />Weary and alone <br />Preparing what to say <br />To all of the people he's going to meet <br /> <br />All of the conversations <br />Emotional, letting it all go <br />Why not? <br />He has nothing to hide <br /> <br />He feels energetic <br />He feels empowered <br /> <br />But when he gets there <br />There's no one there <br />Such a long journey <br />With nothing to share <br /> <br />The path to truth <br />Enlightenment <br />Solidarity <br />Is truly a lonely one <br /> <br />So he sits and waits <br />All by himself <br />And you know what? <br />He's still waiting there <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Dedicated to myself...<br /><br />Joshua Fegley<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/solidarity-11/
