Wouldn’t it be great <br />If we had a life we didn’t hate? <br />All our friends got along <br />And in our head a beautiful song <br />Hair of all colors, black, blonde and red <br />Without any science, social studies, or math <br />Angels flying above our heads <br />There was once a beautiful one that had said <br />“Fear not, child, for these are heaven’s gates, <br />For, beyond these, lies your fate.” <br />And then we would enter the church of God <br />Sing, dance, and worship in a big mob <br />Then Jesus would say, “I love you” to me <br />I’d thank him so much for setting my free <br />He would just smile as he takes me in his arms <br />Deep inside his loving charm <br />Oh, how great it would be <br />Up in heaven, where there is no fee <br />But, for now, we are here on earth <br />And the Godliest place we can be is church <br />But over all the sin and grief here <br />There are people who are very dear <br />I’m glad to live with God’s disciples <br />When I miss him, I’ll just open the Bible<br /><br />Alyssa Rieper<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-life-to-live-3/
