(for nathaniel) <br /> <br />sometimes I want to sit a while, to <br />meditate and think <br />sometimes I wish I had more than <br />these splatterings of ink <br /> <br />sometimes I want to hide away and <br />make a cup of tea, <br />and there's nothing like an introspective <br />tune to set me free <br /> <br />just like the boy who sits in silence <br />playing solitary songs <br />his headphones cannot keep me from his soul <br /> <br />sometimes he wants to take a walk <br />sometimes we sit around <br />the words are not the point-the best <br />times pass without a sound <br /> <br />he doesn't tell me all he thinks-just <br />trusts my eyes to see <br />but I can handle anything if he <br />wants to be with me <br /> <br />'cause he's the boy who sits in silence, <br />or playing songs on his guitar, <br />and his mind is just like mine behind the eyes <br /> <br />underneath the silence, there is <br />more than meets the eye <br />he reads my emotions <br />by a yawn or by a sigh <br /> <br />he doesn't need to ask me <br />anything about my day <br />and I know how he's feeling, <br />even though he doesn't say <br /> <br />he is the boy who sits in silence <br />making melodies for me <br />he'll never say, but I can make him smile<br /><br />R.S.
