They tell me im too Smart <br />They tell me I don't have what it takes <br />They tell me it's suicide <br />I say forget-em! <br /> <br />Is it so ludicris to say I want to be a soldier? <br />I could be satisfied for the rest of my life just to say <br />'I am a soldier' <br />I deserve that, I crave that <br /> <br />To walk with square shoulders and to of seen the worst <br />You stand among those around you, and know that your set apart from them <br />To of felt the asdrenaline of death hissing at you <br />I am not a man unless i have faced life's most difficult tasks <br /> <br />I do not know yet, know what it's like to fight death <br />I've no allusion that i' would be a superhero <br />I know I'll be scared, But i know i would fight back <br />But i deserve it, I crave it <br /> <br />Please let me feel like a man <br />Let me follow my own path <br />Take up life's most difficult and intimidating profession <br />So i can say 'I am a soldier.'<br /><br />Jay Press<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-want-to-be-a-soldier/
