Hamilton Macrae - The Ghosts of Inch Parks Croft

2014-06-14 2 Dailymotion

Two old ladies sat in their house
down a winding country lane
They made some tea then fell asleep
and never woke again

Now their ghosts are waiting
to befriend you in the night
They don't want to hurt or scare you
or make you shake with fright

They're lonely there by the fire
sitting quietly with their tea
They'd love to reach and touch you
if only they could see

But there they sit and stir their brew
as every night goes by
They'll sit and stir and stare
and never reason why

So if you come to see them
you don't have to be afraid
come, sit down beside them
and taste the tea they've made

And when you leave their haunted place
and lie at night in bed
You'll see those ghostly ladies
and think on what I've said

So when you make your tea at night
and stir your cup of brew
Think of the ghosts by the fireside
and they will think of you.

Written 6th January 2007

Hamilton Macrae

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-ghosts-of-inch-parks-croft/
