first boy <br /> <br />My dad is better than your dad better in every way <br />He's working in a better job and he earns a better pay <br />My dad will soon be manager he's heading for the top <br />And your dad near the bottom and further down he'll drop. <br /> <br />second boy <br /> <br />Your dad may soon be manager but your dad is a snob <br />And you are just a braggart mouth to boast about his job <br />My dad is no intellectual but he works hard for his bread <br />And I am better clad than you and I look better fed. <br /> <br /> <br />first boy <br /> <br />Of my dad's successful career I feel obliged to talk <br />My dad he drives a rolls to work whilst your's to the train walk <br />And if you think you look better dressed and better fed than me <br />Then each time you look in the mirror must be some one else you see. <br /> <br />Second boy <br /> <br />So your dad drives a rolls royce to work but that doesn't mean he's great <br />My dad's a better man than him and worth more to the State <br />My dad works hard for his livelihood and your dad lacks in pride <br />Whilst others sweat to earn their bread he sits on his backside. <br /> <br />First boy <br /> <br />So you say that my dad's a lazy man from insult please refrain <br />My dad he does the hardest work he works hard with his brain <br />And I feel proud of what he's achieved and there's none so great as he <br />And by you trying to belittle him 'proof of your jealousy'. <br /> <br />second boy <br /> <br />You speak of insult and jealousy but the jealous one is you <br />My dad works harder than your dad and you know that is true, <br />You are jealous of my father and we don't see eye to eye <br />And I've got football training in an hour and so I've got to say goodbye.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lines-on-overhearing-two-young-boys-arguing-about-their-fathers/
