He was a good kid that one, I liked him a lot <br /> <br />When I needed a friend <br />He was there <br />Had the energy of an athlete <br />The strength of a bear <br />He wanted a good Future <br />Struggling with the <br />Demons from his past <br /> <br />We used to go out <br />To the pub for a blast <br />Get drunk, do drugs <br />Felt like an outcast <br />But the kid had heart <br />And I admired him for that <br />Even when <br />He started trouble <br />I had his back <br />It didn’t matter <br />He was insecure <br />And grew up rough <br />His family left him <br />He had to be tough <br />I knew he was poor <br />Living with crack heads <br />And suffering raw <br />I wanted to save him <br />From what I saw <br /> <br />YOU HEAR ME! <br />I WANTED TO SAVE HIM <br />GOD <br />I HONESTLY DID <br /> <br />He needed his friends <br />He was confused and young <br />I took him to my house <br />And let him stay for a week <br />My parents didn’t understand <br />Not seeing his pain <br />They didn’t understand it <br />And turned him away <br />He tried suicide one time <br />But failed that day <br />He needed attention <br />Guidance from above <br />Then one night <br />I get a <br />phone call <br />‘Your friend was <br />Stabbed in a brawl! <br />I should’ve seen it coming <br />I felt like a fool <br />Stabbed in the neck <br />And kicked to the kerb <br /> <br />YOU HEAR ME? <br />I WANTED TO SAVE HIM <br />GOD! <br />I REALLY DID! <br /> <br />I remember him well, <br /> <br />The friend <br />I tried to save <br /> <br />I saw it all coming <br />But was helpless <br />On the day <br /> <br />He was a good kid, <br />And taught me a lot, <br />Died so young <br />Corpse left to rot <br />and my eighteenth birthday <br />I’ve never forgot <br />When he sang Bon Jovi’s <br />‘Always’ <br />I guess <br />That was his plot <br />His Goodbye to me <br />A memory <br />I’ll take to my grave <br /> <br />I remember him; <br />The boy <br />I tried to save <br /> <br />HE WAS A GOOD KID GOD <br />ONE I COULD CONFIDE IN <br />GOD BLESS YOU <br />ADAM <br />WHERE EVER YOU ARE <br />I’LL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU <br /> <br />I’LL LOOK TO THE STARS! <br /> <br /> <br />R.I.P ADAM GANLY <br />catch you at the cross road!<br /><br />Nathan Strange<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-ll-catch-you-at-the-cross-road/
