I wonder about Ecclesiastes tonight: <br />is everything just a repetition of the past <br />a repetition of the things that had been <br />and will be repeated again <br /> <br />Is there nothing new under the sun <br />and how can we go on <br />knowing it is so - <br />I feel so weary by what I see <br /> <br />And by what experience brings <br />it feels as if the only time I know <br />is the time to throw away stones <br />the stones of memory <br /> <br />In every dropp of sweetest delight <br />seems to lurk the pain of deceit <br />the bitterness of deception <br />bringing more pain unto me <br /> <br />Why should false expectation <br />and deceptive positive reflection <br />always be followed by <br />cold retribution <br /> <br />And bitter memory?<br /><br />Margaret Alice<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ecclesiastes-tonight/
