The writing of further poems in this series is likely at a future date.)

All that is in creation falls into an attentive hush
As the Creator speaks into the emptiness
From His mind into reality comes a sphere
And light for that which shall be day,
Darkness for that which shall be known as night,
Yet with lights of its own, lights of beauty
For the days to come after Man has fallen
And forgotten his Maker, the One that breathed life into him
Man will look into the sky late at night and stand in wonderment
And ask themselves and others, what is it that draws me so?
The night sky holds a great riddle, for there is truth in it
The light out there beckons me, and I feel a great longing
For something that I lost though I never really had
Something lost long ago, long before I was ever born
And yet somehow, whatever was lost, I lost it too
Many, many years before I was ever conceived.
Out in that vast expanse are lights, and though I know not how
I know that the light in the darkness represents something far greater
That which I have sought my entire life without knowing what it is I seek

(March 5,2003)

David Lovell

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/genesis-collection-part-1-written-in-the-stars/
