Kitty Smith - Ode to Carl Sandburg's 'Fog'

2014-06-14 11 Dailymotion

The sun eyes
the golden lakebed.
It winks a half-closed gaze as
lids grow heavy. It’s time to sleep,
as it slips under the dark water,
until it wakes the morning.

Full moon shines
on silver water wakes,
sentinel of creatures hunting
for substance to fill their hunger.
Moonlight softly glows on land and sea,
keeping watch over the night.

Earth, a sapphire sphere,
looks up towards heaven.
Dependent on sun and moon
for life and light and ocean tides,
rotating through cycles of life
Home of man; miracle of God.

Kitty Smith

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ode-to-carl-sandburg-s-fog/
