I saw the golden colour in the rainbow, <br />i must've forgot that it comes after a rainy night. <br />I saw the light shining on his brow, <br />i must've have forgot that it reflected sun's light. <br />I saw an angel but no angels were there, <br />and all the signs were misleading to me. <br />I never thought that he'd pretend to care, <br />and that he lied about his love to me.. <br />He wrote our names on a paper then, <br />and so many words of his love too. <br />My heart beat so strongly within, <br />when he said, ' i love you '.. <br />And surely he would die for my sake, <br />and if he had me he'd own this world. <br />Meaning non of that leading me to break, <br />and they all said what a foolish girl. <br />I'd rather walk alone, <br />than to walk side by side to you. <br />I'd love to live on my own, <br />than to live my life with you. <br />I'd rather walk alone, <br />than to walk with my hand in your hand. <br />I'd rather have a home, <br />with some one who would care and understand. <br />I hate my heart for it saw, <br />beauty in the middle of the uglyness in you. <br />Your words were the final straw, <br />i'm falling out like once i fell in you..<br /><br />Eman Awad<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-d-rather-walk-alone/
