(NOTE: a response to Diane Violet's ' Sleepover ') : -) <br /> <br /> A 'Camp-Out' in my best friend's yard, <br /> although I don't remember a lot of camping then, <br /> the only reason that we did it, <br /> is ' cause we knew the girls were sleeping-over. <br /> <br /> Urges and emotions took control of us, <br /> and even then, to some of them, <br /> imaginations ran the wild side, <br /> we intended to act out, <br /> the Prince and Princess bride. <br /> <br /> We pitched our tents of canvas, <br /> pretending wagons on the prairies, <br /> both cowboys and the Indians, <br /> intent on midnight raiding. <br /> <br /> With flashlights in our hands, <br /> we stole stealthy through the night, <br /> we forgot about one detail though, <br /> we didn't tell them we were coming, <br /> ... you should have heard the squealing! <br /> <br /> With flashlights tucked between our legs, <br /> we ran and then pretended that it never happened, <br /> most of us worked to forget it, <br /> we knew the ladies never did, <br /> but, they were kind and never mentioned that, <br /> ... except when reminiscing, <br /> about the times when they were kids.<br /><br />Barry Van Allen<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/camp-outs/
