Sometimes driving through the mountains, <br /> sort of sets my soul at ease, <br /> the roads themselves are dangerous, <br /> ... but, there is something 'bout the scenery. <br /> <br /> In particular in autumn, <br /> but, at any time of year, <br /> driving through the mountains, <br /> makes a clouded head, much clearer. <br /> <br /> Right before the spring, <br /> when everything is gray, <br /> if your heart is ' heavy set ' , <br /> it can make that go away. <br /> <br /> Spend a day and watch, <br /> as life renews again, <br /> it's not a cure, <br /> but, sure feels pure, <br /> ... a clean, internal rain. <br /> <br /> The city can't deliver that, <br /> not when you need it most, <br /> the city trees can only give, <br /> what passes as a missing ghost. <br /> <br /> Time's the real healer, <br /> I guess we all know that, <br /> but, I think it's somehow better, <br /> when you mix scenery with that.<br /><br />Barry Van Allen<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/melding-2/
