one day the voices will leave you <br />you have long asked them to go <br />and you will be all alone and you will sip silence slowly <br />one day you will say you are at last free <br />the vexations all gone with departures <br />at first you get relieved and being new to this situation <br />you open the door and run to the yard to play <br />you become a child again riding on the swing <br />you stretch your hands and waive to the trees <br />you remove your shoes and feel the grass on your feet <br />one day you become naked <br />you have been dreaming of this all the days of your life <br />one day you soak yourself to the salt of the sea <br />and tan yourself with all the sun you can take <br />one day you will find nothing significant in these changes <br />you want to give all these up <br />you press some numbers on the cell phone <br />you want to go back to the sound of the voices of your home <br />one day you will realize you are nothing but a deep longing <br />an empty space an absence wanting some presence <br />one day you call each of them you want them all back <br />you bend you beg you implore for some more <br />the vexations and the whispers and the screams <br />for they have long defined you and have become a part of all of them <br />one day you confess you belong to them and have identified with them <br />without them you are incomplete you have no meaning. <br /> <br />one day you will embrace all of them, pain as brothers, sadness as kins <br />one day you become so true you become whole again<br /><br />RIC S.
