One by one the mysteries break you,
shaving you down until you're the perfect sculpture
But my perfection is held in a glass of water
and it's hard to tell just how full it is
My eyes slide down my cheek
and my vision is becoming impaired
and though your voice is echoing in my ears,
I think I've lost my senses.
I feel nothing.

I'm that blooming flower swaying in the wind
I'll grow and I'll die
and I'll ressurect, but only in spring
back on Earth, new and revived

And if I could I'd walk on water,
glide on this city's lakes
I'll take a rocketship to the sun
and stay away from outstretched arms
I'll feign that I'm a peach-
A tast of luxury
and tattooed with bruises
That's what you see when you look at my face
So for you, I'll be that.

Can I rebound like a Phoenix?
Can I learn to live again?
I'll claw my way out from under the ashes
I'll learn to fly as if I always knew.

Faith Wood

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/new-and-revived/
