After many years of writing, <br />I used to ask myself all the time <br />was it really worth it all the sacrifices I gave. <br />The answer is now easy <br />and it is a three-letter word. <br />That little word is yes. <br />I may not have untold riches, <br />a posh car or a big house. <br />I have something more precious; <br />I can help all those in need. <br />Through my work, <br />I can teach humanity <br />of man-to-man or woman-to-woman, <br />whichever the case may be. <br />In addition, I no longer ask myself <br />if my sacrifices were in vain. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />18 January 2008<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ask-myself/
