There is a lady that I know <br />who has pushed many away <br />with hurtful comments about them <br />from time to time. <br />When tragedy struck her recently <br />and she needed someone there, <br />those who could have helped her <br />were no longer there. <br />Seeing her walk head bowed <br />trying to make conversation <br />to anyone who passed by. <br />Sadly, they couldn’t trust her <br />fearing she would turn on them <br />as she had done many times before. <br />She stands alone now <br />abandoned to be on her own <br />after making many lives a total misery, <br />pitting friend against friend. <br />No one can sympathise with her <br />and no one wants to know. <br />No new chances given, <br />they’ve done them too many times before. <br />She now looks sad and rejected <br />having throughout her life <br />pushed many away once too often <br />and now she stands alone. <br /> <br />10 April 2009<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lonely-lady/
