I held a star last night <br />in the palm of my hand. <br />I wished to the heavens <br />for peace in every land. <br />I wished for no wars <br />in the year to come. <br />I wished for no killing <br />to be done by anyone. <br />I wished for love <br />between all colours and creeds <br />and that everyone would treat <br />everyone as a brother, a sister and a friend. <br />As to whether my wishes <br />will come true <br />that is up to everyone <br />including me and you.<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-held-a-star/
