She opened up the jar, <br />and the butterfly flew in, <br />she slowly pulled it out, <br />and let it rest against her skin. <br /> <br />When she laid it back in the jar, <br />she looked in horror at her arm, <br />tiny feathers were everywhere, <br />she'd never meant it harm. <br /> <br />She looked with tears in her eyes, <br />at the form that would never again fly, <br />thats when the girl knew, <br />one day everyone would die. <br /> <br />She asked God for forgiveness, <br />as she buried the little thing, <br />she covered it with dirt, <br />and began to sing, <br /> <br />Little thing with wings of blue, <br />What have I done to you, <br />I will always respect whats pure and true, <br />and never question what God has to do.<br /><br />Savannah Allison<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/realization-12/
