Another day, another time, life seemed so carefree. <br />The most of my worries were the color of the curtains. <br />Bright Red I wanted them to be. <br />Perhaps a warning. <br /> <br />Oh to travel back and bask in the glory of simplicity. <br />The road was much smoother then. Galavanting on nair a care in the world. <br /> <br />Today the lump at the back of my throat is large enough to choke me. <br />Stifling, quieting my merry tone. <br /> <br />Oh to sing beautiful again. To soar at the high notes with such ease. <br /> <br />The red curtains cloud my thoughts at day break, taking me back to that simpler life. Playing and dancing as darkness lurked near. <br /> <br />Oblivious to the danger I twirled and sang loudly. <br />Making my presence known. <br /> <br />I was the epitome of happiness, Soaring like the eagle. <br /> I could rise above you and find my secret place. <br /> <br />Without warning you pounced. With full steam ammunition. Taking me down. <br /> <br />Wounded soldier left to die. I am here in the trenches awaiting rescue. I am not alone he has found me even here. <br /> <br />In the silence he reminds me of my pain. Encouraging me to surrender. <br /> <br />I remember. Living words in my heart slowly reaching a crescendo. <br />Echoing into the darkness, reminding me of the rainbow. <br /> <br />With my mustard seed faith I believe. <br />I will not beg you for mercy for I know your name... Fear <br /> <br />Perfect love casts out Fear. <br />As his loving arms surround me.
