Death follows me everywhere I go. <br />He haunts me like a ghost trying to find its way home. <br />He follows me like a shadow. <br />Everywhere I look I see death. <br /> <br />Why he follows me I don't know but he does. <br />But is not as bad as people think. <br />Death is my best friend. <br />He has protected me from what hurts me. <br /> <br />As best of friends as we might be I still wonder why he follows me. <br />Trying to understand him is like trying to understand the world. <br />So I guess I’ll never know. <br />Knowing he is there though comforts me when I feel alone. <br /> <br />All it takes is a simple tap not the shoulder for me to remember that he is there. <br />We don't talk to one another, not like we can. <br />Still just to feel him there is all it takes to calm a soul like mine.<br /><br />7Shadows Teed<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/death-and-me/
