Knowing that all I can do is sit here, <br />And feel the pain cutting like a knife. <br />The sharp blade breaking my skin, <br />And sucking out all the life. <br /> <br />I close my eyes and you enter my mind, <br />Consuming my thoughts with your voice. <br />I can choose to open my eyes, to leave you. <br />Or to listen to your laugh, its my choice. <br /> <br />You say your love is exstinct, <br />But has it really died? <br />Can it be that you dont care? <br />Or did you just lie? <br /> <br />Every single acidic tear that falls, <br />Is drowning me with so much sorrow. <br />I'm used to seeing through blurred eyes, <br />And used to feeling so hollow. <br /> <br />I dont like seeing that thing at your side, <br />But I cannot change what you feel. <br />It hurts so bad just to breath, <br />I can barely even heal. <br /> <br />I'm screaming for you to rescue me, <br />Yet you are no where in sight. <br />My voice is getting hoarse, <br />As I cry myself to sleep at night. <br /> <br />Curled in a ball, burried under the covers. <br />I wonder if anyone is like me. <br />Does anyone else experience this pain? <br />Through blurred eyes does anyone see? <br /> <br />The crisp sunlight screams through my window, <br />As if saying *Get up its time for a wonderful day! * <br />I pull the covers farther over my head, <br />I want everything and everyone to go away. <br /> <br />Except For You <br /> <br />Written September 8th,2007<br /><br />Dani Miller<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/except-for-you/
