In years to come the Chinese people may come to regret <br />What their Government is doing right now to the highlands of Tibet <br />They build roads through the high country and cut the hill trees down <br />And on land for birds and animals they've built an ugly town. <br /> <br />But to point the finger at China may seem a bit unfair <br />As what's happening in Tibet has happened everywhere <br />And even in this twenty first century man yet doesn't understand <br />That we don't own the Planet we do not own the land. <br /> <br />We do not own this Planet to this Planet we belong <br />And we cut down the woodland that support the birds of song <br />We lay to waste this Planet Earth but the Earth we can't destroy <br />And Mother Earth will always be around 'tis man himself will die. <br /> <br />'Tis we belong to Mother Earth and off Mother Earth we live <br />We eat her crops and animals but to her we do not give <br />We smear her face with concrete and we strip her forests bare <br />And what's happening in Tibet has happened everywhere.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-do-not-own-this-planet/
