In Inverloch in South Gippsland a pleasant Autumn day
The sunlight on the coastal trees and quite warm for May
The red wattlebirds are calling on the banksias by the sea
And the magpie he is piping on high branch of blackwood tree.

The sunlit beach is quiet today and there's warmth in the breeze
And one might say perfect weather of around twenty degrees
And though the nights are slightly chilly the temperatures never seem too cold
And the sunrises and sunsets are so lovely to behold.

On canvas the beauty of Inverloch the South Gippsland artists glorify
Where the sea beyond the shores of Point Smythe at twilight seems to meet the sky
And the marvellous scenic beauty the poets to verse inspire
Of the coastal lands of South Gippsland in the famous Gippsland Shire.

On a Saturday in the late Fall in Inverloch the skies are sunny, bright and clear
One can only enjoy the pleasant weather at this time of the year
The lorikeets on the trees are chirping and the grey shrike thrush pipe and sing
And though Winter is fast approaching it seems more like a day in Spring.

Francis Duggan

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/may-in-inverloch/
