Can you feel the world unwinding? <br />He has loosed the ties and freed the binding. <br />And soon his fury will come into your minding, <br />Until all that you know is lost beyond finding. <br /> <br />A dark fire descends from out of the sky, <br />The ground breaks up and the oceans cry. <br />Out of the deep what evil might fly? <br />Nobody knows, so put your faith in a lie. <br /> <br />Amidst all the chaos the shepherd runs away, <br />And the flock with no leader still wanders astray. <br />So, oblivious, they venture into the fray, <br />Waiting in vain for the coming day. <br /> <br />Now finally the ends of the world collide. <br />Rend through land and sea a great divide. <br />And to all alike salvation is denied. <br />Nothing more will the Earth provide.<br /><br />Mark Lawmon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-world-unwinding/
