Money speaks every language as it would appear <br />And of corruption even in the highest places we read of and we hear <br />But not due to fear of an afterlife of hell <br />Good people their souls for money never sell. <br /> <br />Whether they be religious or not it would seem to me <br />Good people of the greed that leads to corruption are totally free <br />Their souls to them sacred cannot be bought or sold <br />For all of the World's money or all of the World's gold. <br /> <br />Some talk of their religion and pray to their God <br />And then go out and steal from the poor and downtrod <br />Yet for their crimes they never feel guilt or shame <br />These people give God and religion such a bad name. <br /> <br />Good people to help others go out of their way <br />And for helping someone poor do not expect pay <br />There is far more to them than me, myself and I <br />And they remain as good people till the day that they die. <br /> <br />I feel privileged since good people I meet every day <br />Of others they never do have ill to say <br />Unlike me by their good example they do lead the way <br />For where they see beauty I only see decay.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/good-people-3/
