Of Nature so much he does claim for to know <br />But he cannot tell apart a currawong from a crow <br />A difference that should be not that hard to see <br />He does not seem that very clever to me <br />The only similarity between a crow and a currawong is that they both can fly <br />And the more we think we know the less we do know to him does apply <br />On a simple thing he had made the wrong call <br />His type are not rare a self professed know it all <br />And though he could not tell apart a crow from a currawong <br />I did not say to him I believe you are wrong <br />He was convinced the currawong was a crow I thought let it be <br />Since with the truth of the matter he would not agree <br />Life and Nature has lessons for us every day <br />But know it alls never learn as they grow old and gray<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-self-professed-know-it-all/
