When I was young, Winter was an inspiration, <br />It fashioned my dreams, affected my inclination, <br />Had me yearning for a character, pure as snow, <br />Spring and its green, diminished Winter's glow, <br />Summer's heat, changed the frosty theme, <br />And now I despair, what did Winter mean? <br />Autumn flashed through with cool breezes <br />Thoughts of Winter resurfaced with my sneezes. <br /> <br /> <br />Now enthusiastic again about attaining such purity, <br />Searching deep within my soul in sweet sincerity, <br />Seeking that innocent youth who once fervently sought, <br />The strength of character thoughts of snow once brought, <br />Wondering how I allowed the otherseasons' lure, <br />To have distracted me till this old age from being pure. <br /> <br />©Perveiz Ali 18 March'14 <br />Editted by: Carl pontiak<br /><br />Perveiz Ali<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/when-i-was-young-33/
